On August 15, 2013, a celebration of the Republic of Congo’s Independence Day took place at the Mengo Base Camp, in recognition of Congo’s 53 years of independence from France. More than 120 guests participated in this event hosted by MagMinerals Potasses Congo (“MPC”), including employees of our three local subsidiaries, and representatives of East China Engineering Science and Technology - General Contractor for the construction of MagIndustries’ Mengo Potash Project, subcontractors China Wuyi and Beijing Uni-Construction Group, as well as community leaders.

Mr. Fuliang WANG, Deputy General Administrator of MPC, launched the celebration with a warm welcome speech, during which he expressed his expectation that through concerted effort from all, MPC will complete potash project construction on a timely basis, working together with the Republic of Congo. To a background of dynamic African music, our guests exchanged the best holiday wishes while enjoying a delicious buffet that drew on international and local food traditions.

This social event reinforced cohesiveness among various participants and stakeholders in the Mengo Potash Project. As reflected in the confident smiles of our peers, we have made a positive step toward the further globalization, localization, and diversification of our operations.
